At about 5:40 p.m. on Sunday, East Windsor police were called on a report of a collision near Route 133 and 1 Mile Road.
Firefighters from East Windsor and Hightstown responded along with members of the East Windsor First Aid & Rescue Squad and Capital Health Paramedics.
First responders found a car fully engulfed in flames and at least one person trapped inside the vehicle, according to initial reports.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene, East Windsor police said.
Additional details were not immediately available.
The Mercer County Prosecutor's Office was investigating.
